Dr. Gällstedt is a senior scientist in packaging materials, at the research institute STFI-Packforsk, in Sweden. Gällstedt has been performing research on renewable polymers for packaging applications since year 2000, and is both working as a consultant to packaging companies and with academic research in cooperation with different universities. The major topic is barrier packaging films and coatings. With a background as researcher at Dept. of Polymer Technology at The Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) and guest scientist at the Laboratory of Packaging Engineering at Korea University (South Korea), some of the major contract
research projects are also focusing on non-renewable polymer materials and food packages.
