In close cooperation with a longtime customer from the petfood industry a new high speed machine concept for 100 g stand-up pouches was developed. Transport of the pouches is effected in intermittent motion in carrier plates and is based in its entire functionality on DOSOMAT machines for aluminium trays that have proven their efficiency over many years. The machine is designed for a maximum speed of up to 1100 pouches/min. After the pouches have been closed by means of ultrasonic sealing they are directly loaded into waiting autoclave trays by means of an integrated pick-and-place system. This solution omits additional pouch handling in the retort area, at the same time minimising the floor space requirements for the equipment.
